Christian Rein, Ph.D., is a Senior Specialist and Product Manager focusing on sustainable and innovative materials for printed electronics. With a Ph.D. in biomimetic chemistry and an M.Sc. in nanotechnology from the University of Copenhagen, Rein has over 15 years of experience in research, development, and cross-disciplinary project management. His contributions include 13 publications, such as collaborations with Nobel laureate M. Meldal on click-chemistry, and extensive expertise in physics, chemistry, nanotechnology, and scaling production processes.
At the Danish Technological Institute (DTI), Rein coordinates the Horizon Europe project “Sustain-a-Print,” dedicated to embedding sustainability across the life cycle of electronic materials. He also serves as the Danish coordinator for the EECONE project, a 49-member EU initiative aimed at fostering a sustainable ecosystem for electronics. His work emphasises the development of circular production methods, sustainable materials, and flexible electronics technologies. Rein’s roles in academia and industry have spanned advancements in solar cells, nanomaterials, and biomimetic membranes – a foundation for navigating the challenges of international, cross-disciplinary projects. His continued focus is on the growing demand for scalable and eco-friendly solutions in advanced electronics. |
